Lay gained from the Frito Company an exclusive franchise to manufacture and distribute Fritos corn chips in the Southeast. In 1983 Calloway shifted to the PepsiCo headquarters in Purchase, New York, to become the parent company's CFO (and eventually its chairman and CEO). Taking over as president of Frito-Lay was Michael Jordan, who held the position for two years before also heading to Purchase and eventually becoming PepsiCo president.
Sales began expanding geographically after Doolin hired a sales force to make regular deliveries to stores. The Frito Company also began selling the products of potato chip manufacturers through license agreements. Frito-Lay began in the early 1930s as two companies, "The Frito Company" and "H.W. Eagle Snacks gained market share in the 1980s with premium products that sold for low prices, some of which were 20 percent lower than those of Frito-Lay. In addition to the increased competition, Frito-Lay also suffered in the late 1980s through 1990 from self-inflicted wounds, such as increasing prices faster than inflation, letting the corporate payroll become bloated, and allowing product quality to decline.
Willard Korn served as president of Frito-Lay during the mid-1980s, a period coinciding with the company's relocation of its headquarters from Dallas to Plano, Texas, but more importantly with a spate of failed product introductions. In 1986 Frito-Lay rolled out a slew of new products, several in the nonsalty snack sector, including Toppels cheese-topped crackers, Rumbles crispy nuggets, and Stuffers dip-filled shells. The company also attempted to penetrate the growing market for kettle-cooked chips, a variety harder and crunchier than regular potato chips, with a brand called Kincaid. The barrage of new products was too much for Frito-Lay's 10,000-strong sales force to handle; products were lost on store shelves and all of the new brands were quickly killed. Korn resigned from his post in November 1986, with Jordan returning to Texas to head Frito-Lay once again. Under Jordan's leadership in the late 1980s, Frito-Lay focused on revitalizing its existing brands rather than developing new brands.

What started as a pizza hotspot in the Williamsburg, Emmy Squared has rapidly expanded recently with the latest target in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood in Charlotte. The restaurant is widely known for its thick crust pizza and its double-stacked burger on a pretzel bun, which has won multiple best-of awards.

We had a party of 5 and 2 slices for each person, the bill was very cheap. Definitely want to come back again with a group of friend. Arrived just before noon and there was one table occupied. By the time we left, every table was occupied.

There is street parking just outside the restaurant and down the street. Alternatively there is a garage but not sure if the restaurant validates parking or how much it costs. The food tasted great and was delivered promptly after ordering. This pizza is a great blend of creamy (burratta) and spicy (not overly spicey but there's a kick).

My sister is gluten free so we ordered all of the pizza with gluten free dough. I was hesitant in doing so since the dough is the best part (a more airy Sicilian style) and I was nervous that it might not be the same. But I was pleasantly surprised that the gluten free pizza was just as good- I probably wouldnt have even noticed the difference.

We had the Zia style waffle fries which have pimento cheese, bacon and ranch dressing and we had the Angel pie with Ricotta and mushrooms. The fries were really good, they were very crispy and the sauce was delicious and the pizza was great. I thought the crust was almost perfect and the toppings went really well together. I genuinely cannot say enough good things about Emmy Squared. The pizza is absolutely incredible. After having raved about it to my family when they were visiting from NY, I took them to try it out for themselves.
We ordered two pizzas which were served promptly. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding. The pizza was not greasy and I was pleasantly surprised by the gluten free crust which, to my taste buds, tasted as good and even better than something containing gluten. Having a brother with Celiac, this last part is an absolute plus for me and a reason to keep coming back. First time here, actually suggested by my friend.
If the chiles are too much heat, you can take as much of them off as you want as they are placed on top of the basil leaf. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the crust was amazing. Andy, our waiter was great, and all the other staff were just as friendly. If you haven't had their pizza definitely recommend you give them a try.

That political base has freed Democrats to compete in the battlegrounds of the Midwest and reach for states like Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia that were once well beyond the party’s grasp. Wright’s Usonian-style homes are simple and utilitarian in their design and were created with the intention of being affordable to middle-class Americans. Completed in 1963, the house was initially constructed in Wilsonville near the Willamette River and featured Wright’s signature emphasis on horizontal designs; it has a cantilevered roof. Cedar wood and painted cinder block construction materials as well as floor-to-ceiling windows helped blend the home into its natural surroundings. In 2001, the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy saved the building from demolition (after the original homeowners died, the new owners wanted to make room for a larger, more contemporary house) and moved it to its current location in Silverton.
